Our Story
Vroman’s Silver Shop has been providing high quality silver restoration, buying and selling to the Glendora, CA area, as well as internationally, for over 75 years. Since 1937, our shop has developed a reputation as one of the best restorers in the U.S. because we can perform simple restorations to major reconstructions with great attention to detail and we take a hands-on approach. We are known for our work on American Victorian figural silver plated pieces. We can work on items from many different centuries because we have in-depth knowledge and experience that many other silversmiths do not.
In our family owned and operated shop we sell our silver and silver-plated collection that include works from many different centuries. We also buy sterling silver, other precious metals and silver plated pieces from our customers. Whether you are looking to buy, sell or have your pieces repaired, we are the silversmithing shop that you are looking for. In addition, we are a matching business. If you misplace, lose or need more place settings in your patterns, we are your supplier! We will work with you one-on-one to meet your needs.

Vroman’s Silver Shop has been providing high quality silver restoration, buying and selling to Glendora, CA and surrounding areas for over 30 years. Vroman’s is known for its work on American Victorian figural silver-plate, used by collectors and dealers across the U.S. and internationally. They have worked on numerous items from as far back as the 16th century to current products being made today.
Understanding various manufacturing techniques used over the last 200 to 300 years allows Rick to approach any damaged piece in a manner appropriate to its original construction. Typical requests by customers might include replacing the rusted, steel knife blades of a silver set, removing dents from a fancy bowl knocked off a shelf, reattaching a handle to a coffee pot, or repairing a broken hinge. The many years of experience give Vroman’s the troubleshooting know-how to approach almost any problem.
One of the more common difficulties encountered is poor work from a previous repair. Many shops have employees who do not have the sensitivity to work on delicate objects. They may be highly skilled in one area or task but do not have the historical or aesthetic perspective that helps in the restoration of a piece.
Unless workers are well managed, irreversible damage may be done to a piece. Most often the bad work can be corrected but there are times when surface detail or the material itself has been compromised by this earlier work. Missing elements can be recreated and added to a piece.
